Consulting Editor: David Field

David Field David, himself a determined generalist, is convinced that in order to be effective in Christian ministry it is vital to learn to integrate biblical studies, doctrinal thinking and pastoral and practical concerns.
After reading theology at Oxford, David gained experience of ministry in the local church and then taught in a theological college in Nigeria for three years. His doctorate from Cambridge was in Puritan thought and was followed by five years as minister of an FIEC church in Surrey. Immediately before coming to Oak Hill he had four years in the commercial world as a headhunter.
David is married to Sue and they have three daughters, Sarah (studying in US), Ruth (working in London) and Esther (being home-educated). David's other loves include the novels of John Buchan, Everton FC, fruit brandy and early mornings.
